Anyone have any info on the rb supercharger? I was thinking of getting one, but i haven't seen anyone use them or have any experience. What do you guys think?
 
from what I've read i heard they are not worth putting on a nitro. do a "supercharger" search and you'll see what I'm talking about
 
Just lean it out as much as you can = same thing...in the end you are just killing your engine quicker and throwing cash out the window. Tuned pipe, air filter, etc...but forced induction on these engines makes no sense.
 
still not proven to make significant gains in power... waste of money. They talk a lot of game but very little proof is out there.
 
I saw the pics when Lessen took a supercharger apart for his drag car, the inefficiency in the design makes me think that they are making them to look cool and could care less about the performance gain. I'm no expert like Lessen and he's the one that took it apart, but from what I've seen, they're lack of effort to build an efficient supercharger that actually forces air WHERE IT SHOULD BE makes me think that they could care less about the performance numbers. Am I way off the mark here lessen? Did you discover something that I didn't see when you were fooling with it? Please corect me if I'm wrong.
 
Well, my application is a completely different animal since I'm planning on supercharging a 4-stroke. However, I do agree with the mainstream that these are generally more about bling than performance, at least the way they are marketed
. First of all I highly doubt that the are geared to actually provide any boost to begin with.. even with a 4-stroke such as I'm working on. It's all theory right now but I have a feeling the impeller needs to spin MUCH faster than they way they are intended from the factory to provide a boost effect in the combustion chamber. So then there is the fact that the impeller is made of plastic... probably ABS or something like that. At any rate, IF it could provide boost at higher rpm's, and IF you could gear it to do so, then MAYBE the plastic impeller would stand up to the extremely high rpm's... Plus there is the fact that the machining is NOT near as precise as would be necessary for it to be efficient.

Bottom line is, if you are looking to get a significant boost in power in your two-stroke you'd be better off to save your cash and buy a stronger engine. Or spend A LOT more money on your own R&D in order to make one work. Like I'm going to :D
