This is the first high end charger i have ever had. I have had it for about 6 months and i hate it. It tells me my batterys (rx packs) are fully charged yet they dont last for but 5 minutes. It does this with both my packs. So i get the 5-10 minutes of run time then i go to charge them. It says they are charged 5 minutes later. Same thing. I try to decharge them and the charger goes for 5 minutes and says "stop" yet the display says they are putiing out 6.5 volts. Is it just me or the charger?

I have the same one and it works great. Not going to pretend to know what could be wrong but if it were me, I would bring it back to the store and get another since you are having problems with more than one receiver pack.

I'm am not too familiar with the charger but check the millivolts. If it's too low, it will false peak. Check the manufacturer specs of the rx pack.

Ok the charger is charging correctly. ut decharging idk. I put both pack on a multimeter and they were putting out 6.1 and 6.7. So it is in the car.I tried it again and the fail safe kicks in. I thought maybe the fail safe was falted so i took it off. The steering servo was sooo slugish and could barely turn the wheels. So idk whats wrong, you?

Alsdo i think it might be because I'm using jr plugs in an hitec recivere with futaba outlets.

Just thought of. Maybe its in the switch.

When you charge your batteries, do they get warm? You'll know they're close to being charged up when they start to get very warm.

No I'm not selling. As i said the only problem i have found with the charger is discharging. The problem is in the savage.

Ok I have the 969 pro and it works fine for NiMH and Nicads. You have to tell that charger how many cells it is charging in the pack, what the voltage charge rate is, and how many MAH the pack is rated at. It takes these numbers and calculates a charge time.

also do not charge at more than 1 amp, that way it gets a good peak and your batts last longer. It takes a little longer to charge this way but it is worth it.

PiErow,

I think the chances are you're using the default charge rate (2.5 or 3 amps I think). This is not good for your hump packs. Hopefully you haven't destroyed them.

1) Find out what capacity your hump pack is (1100 mah, 2200 mah or whatever). Divide that number by 10. This is the charge rate you should use in mah (Milli Amp Hours). To get to amps, divide by 1000. So if you have a 1100, you should try to charge it around 0.1 amps. The 969 only goes down to 0.2 amps so this will have to be good enough.

2) So how long should you expect it to take to charge your hump pack? Take the capacity of your battery and divide by the charge rate in milliamps (multiply amps by 1000). For example, 1100 divided by 200 is 5.5 or five and a half hour to charge from completely dead. 2200 divided by 200 is 11 hours.

That's kind of long you say? I should mention that a peak charger will stop charging the battery when it thinks it's fully charged. So chances are it won't be that long, but it's not a quick 10-20 minute deal. Charging at a slower rate will give you better results. If you want to charge them fast (also known as peak charging), the charge rate should not be greater than the capacity. 1100 mah bat can go at about 1 amp. 2200 mah bat can go at 2 amps. So basically the fastest you can charge a batter safely is one hour (or maybe a little less). If your in a big ass hurry and you willing to sacrifice a little battery life, you can take the charge rate past that, but don't make a habit out of it.

I'm not real big into electrics so maybe my info is off a tad, but that's how it was explained to me and that's how I do my hump packs.

yeah, but see superbrain 969 can charge battery only for 180 minutes at most after that it goes to trickle charge for 50 minutes, and than it shuts off. so basically the longest charge cycle on superbrain 969 can be 3 hrs 50 mins, which is not 5.5 hr or 11 hrs... so... does the charger sucks? or there is some way to set it for longer
