Just thought I'd share a few pics of my winter project and thank all of you for answering my sometimes dumb questions... A special thanks to "SKIP" for the low center gravity extended frames/skidpate. What a great job he did!!!

So far the short list includes:
Aluminum Brake Hub
Aluminum wheel Hexes
Pro-Line Mayhem Tires/UFO Wheels
Hot Bodies Alum. Shocks
Full Force Triple Rate Springs
Twisted Toys Extended TVP's
Relocated Fuel Tank/Throttle Servo
JR XS3 Pro Electrics
Hump Pack
Motor Saver Filter
Hot Bodies Dual Disk Brake
Golden Horizons Steering/Servo Saver(on backorder)
Some other stuff too...

This was also my first attemp at painting a body...Pactra rattle cans were the weapon of choice, I see now the lure of an airbrush...The body is a Pro-Line crowd pleazer for the LST, Genesis, etc. for scale with the TVP's.

Hope you like, I sure do. With the longer frame and better weight balance, she flies like a dream...(hope to have pics or vids soon)... after this weeks repairs!

Bash On!!!

Looks great, good choice of hopups.

also great body i know mine didnt look that good when i did my first body.

looks like you got Skip's idea for the Tank placement. I like i!!! Can you get close ups of the tank and RX Box?

thanks

Jon

Thanks... I'll get close-ups as long as you hold your tongue on the crude work...I wasn't sure how it was all going to come together so it's just sorta, lets say "put together"!!! Works like a champ though. It's meant entirely for "maxx bashing" so I decided to stick with the large stock tank for longer runtimes, it worked pretty slick the way the tank is shaped, it just hangs right over the steering servo(stock location). Second jump I took with it last weekend, landed on the left front...inverted mind you...and broke the front body mount and pushed through and sheered one of the stock radio box cover mounts, so now I need to get clever and figure a way to hold it on...

that is a sexy savy, looks really good, how long did it take u??

Here you go jon, not great pics, but some close ups...I basically hollowed out the radio-box and cut the cover in half, then patched up the holes to try and keep it somewhat clean and dry. The reciever is mounted up front in this handy (uggh) team losi box! I believe I've seen that little mod somewhere too, but can't remember who to give credit for it...thanks, though! Overall, as parts on the bench go...it took about a month! 3 days working on it and 27 days waiting for parts!!! That's what I get for living in the sticks.

Thanks supersavage. Great idea! How does the Battery pack and tank affect the wieght displacement on the truck when you run it? Is it more stable or need more control?

The battery pack is still in the stock location. Moving that large tank inside the frame makes a noticable difference in side to side balance and there is a huge difference in the flight characteristics. Especially when running a full tank. I'm not near so nervous to launch off the double at the moto-X track where we've been running. A couple advantages to it that were my first responses are 1...Throttle and Brake corrections in the air are a lot more controllable. 2...Weight in the front make it more like a dart, i.e. the heavy end wants to stay in the front and 3...I doubt I'll crack the tank landing to hard...in layman's terms...pile driving it into a berm.

If any of you have any ideas on other mods or experimentations, let me know...I have a hacksaw and I know how to use it!

Hey man that looks great.. That looks like a great basher.. I run basicaly the same set up.. I know how well it works.. Nice clean job man...!

If anyone would like to write up a "How To" on these Savage Mods, we would be more than happy to post them in our "Reviews/How To's" thread...
If interested, contact Mayhem, & he'll giude you in the right direction...
I, personally, would love to see how that tank relocation mod is done... :)

This isn't really a fuel tank mod...this is just what happens when yu drink a 6 pack of Corona and lose a fuel tank mount! lol

I wanted to keep the battery tray, so with a little eyeballing, it looked do-able. I broke out the dremel and started carving. First thing was to leave the steering servo mount and the battery compartment, so that only left two places to carve on. To say the least, I probably went a little wide...Thank you O' God of epoxy. I would like to try it again and do a little nicer work, so if I get around to it...you'll get a write up and some pics of the tray without the tank.

I can't thank you enough Skip, the tvp's kick butt...One of these day's I'll try to get a good pic for your site
