Ok so the deal is i just bought a traxxas t-maxx 3.3, 3 days ago i have it broke in and running good(tuned) now i want to dress it up, hop it up, make it faster, look better etc. still new to the rc world so what would be some good and reliable upgrades should i start out with, i was thinking Dual Exhaust, Upgraded air filter, Alum. Skid plates So if you have or had a t-maxx 3.3 and you upgraded it can you please give part description and what was the result in the upgrade thank you in advance.

Dual exhaust is worthless, makes nearly no backpressure, makes it harder to tune. I would not suggest it, I had the rd logics dual on my 3.3 and changed back to the traxxas resonator pipe. I went full alum for the most part. If you just want to bash and some good cheap parts, go for rpm arms for sure from what I've read. I dont know what else I'd suggest if you have the new 4908 (extended chassis, no reverse). I'm sure someone else can chime in on this for you.
 
Isnt that one more expensive than the 4908? Honestly, I hear the forward only is a great mod and very cheap. I went forward only with all steel gears cause of the engine I have and mine is very hefty cause of all the aluminum. The rpm arms are great and usually the best way to see what needs to be upgraded is when it breaks, make it better. Big bore shocks are great even though alot of people goto alum piggy back shocks. Springs are a big thing also.
 
okay well definately go ahead and change your air filter. DONT get KnN one. But the one like on the new 3.3 is the best I've seen for motor. next enforce your arms, bulkheads and then i think that would be plenty for you to start with though i personally want to get an all aluminum integy evo kit for mine but thats 300$ lol.... hope it helps
 
integy's alum is very soft compared to alot of others alum. the best alum is 7075 if i remember correctly, 6061 is more common but integy's parts seem to bend way easier than most other companys, which is why alot of people say dont use them. All of my alum stuff is from fastlanemachines, which are very good pieces. I have the combo bulks, chassis brace, skid plates, and a arms off the top of my head. All of my gears are rrp, and my cvds and center shafts are mip. All seem to be near the top quality wise. IMO RRP is the only way to go for steel gears.
