Fellas, I am asking for your advice on spur/CB combinations to keep the nose of my Savage down. I'm running a Wasp .28 currently with 49/15 on it. I'm thinking if I go with a 47T on the spur, that may help, but am interested in hearing other opinions and suggestions.

Thanks!

I used to run 17/47 with the wasp .28 for a good combination of top speed and low end torque.

I run mine 52/15, but that's all low for fast take off for the track. I'd recommend 49/16 and run it a bit rich.

Reason why I say that, is because I don't want to toast my driveline. That mill's capable of doing it.

hey bud ,
with mt STS .28 i am running 18/49 and it will still pull wheelies easily but not as harsh as it was 15/49 or 15/52
alot more driveable and just as fun and i think the STS has more grunt then the wasp so the 18/49 may just work good for ya

I use 18/47 with my Picco 26 and a 2-speed. I get enough low-end for easy wheelies on pavement and more top-end than the suspension can handle. You will need to adjust your shift point with the new gearing to get max RPM out of first gear.

15/49 would be useless for me.
