Ok, I am new to this forum, but not new to R/C, as I raced in the 80's when the Tamiya hornets were considered competitive. Anyway, I am new to the concept of 2 speed transmissions like the one in me new Savage SS 4.6. I don't have the truck built, but I was looking at the transmission (already built from the factory).
I was looking for the adjustment through the hole in the transmission case and could not find it. I fiddled with the output shafts a bit and saw the notch in the main gear roll into view. I messed with it a little more and finally had the notch line up with the set screw on the 2 speed.
Anyway, my question is this: do you normally have to move this around or should the set screw already be aligned with the notch in the main gear? The manual says to simply rotate the transmission until the set screw comes around. It makes it sound like the set screw is always aligned with the notch in the gear.
Anyway, tell me if this is normal. Or tell me it's normal and a dumb question. Either way, I'm flexible.
