Man when I was changing my fuel lines and adding another filter the other night I did more harm than I did good. Apparently when I was tightening the screw where the high speed needle goes into the carb I over did it and stripped the threads. I'm always careful about that and I can't believe I didn't realize it at the time. Tonight I left work an hour early to play with the maxx, and when I cranked it up the tune was way off and it was leaking fuel on the chassis. Anyway, eventually I found where it was coming from and the screw was very loose, so I tried to tighten it and realized it didn't have any threads.

So to the point, I called the LHS and they a carb body so I'm going to have to rebuild the carb. Any tips would be good. I would love to know where to set the screws like the factory does so I'll have somewhere to start tuning from. What am I going to need besides the tools? Some kind of carb sealant?

Well just so that you dont feel stupid all on your own i too did something very stupid yesterday. I rebuilt the entire front end of my Maxx, New bulkheads, new RPM A arms, new steering assembly, converted to ball joints on the end of the track rods, new steering servo and bell. Took me a good 5 or 6 hours in total.

Then puts it down on the floor gives it a push... It didnt move an inch, so i picks it up spins the wheels they all turn fine. Releases the throttle and brake servo saver just in case the brake was jammed on, turns the brake disc and that was as free as bird ( no probs there). Puts it down on the floor gives it a push and still nothing.

Picks it up by the back bumper gives it a push front wheels move fine, does the same at the front and back wheels move fine. Then after 20 mins pondering three cups of tea and 4 fags i decided to pick it up and spin the wheels by hand again...

Only this time i looked at the wheels to find the fron wheels where turning the opposite way to the back wheels. MMM i thought what i pain in the a*** that is.

I had only gone and put the transfer box in upside down. So the drive was going in the opposite direction on each axel. Although mine was an inexpensive mistake it was another couple of hours stripping and rebuilding to get it right.

But i can tell you now i will never make that mistake again.:second_place:

i've done that same thing twice! once with my first maxx and stripped the front diff, then again just about 2 weeks ago but that time it was exactly what you did, just finish a rebuild (with locktite) and put it on the ground and no movement, picked it up and turned the wheels and they were going opposite ways. that was a fun day......

Well tonight I finally had some time to work on the maxx. It has been a horribly long week with our company and I haven't had a moments free time until now, so I just got done putting my carb back together and checking things out. I got the truck running good and got it tuned just right. It's running better than ever as I've been studying how to tune it correctly and have it dialed in pretty good. Thanks again to everyone who's helpin me out with the truck!
