Well I just got done puting my revo back together. I replaced the spur, clutch shoes and exaust gasket. Heres the thing, I take it outside and fires right up so I know its not the mill go to warm it up and the motor spools up but the truck dosent move. Now I'm stumped. Could a slipper be really loose and cause the truck not to move. Or happens to the gears in the trani if its stuck in second. I can't figur out whats goin on with this thing. Everything seems cool its just not moving.

Your clutch shoes are probably on backwards. They need to face a certain direction to be spun outwards from centrifigul force to catch the inner clutch bell. Check that and see if that fixes the problem.

Well if the slippers too loose just look at the spur gear, if it's spinning then you know it's too loose.

HUH if its not one F-in thing its another with this truck! So i tighten up the slipper and that was it. I set the truck on the ground and as a drop it I notice a small round thing fall on the floor. I was like WTF, bend over to look and its a F-in berring. I'm like crap where did that come from. I look and the c-clip that hold on the clutch fell off. S*** now I have to go back to the hobby store. Those guys are learning my name and that not good. Frigin pisses me off. I just want to bash with no problems. You know maby its time to start looking into a savage lol. Well thanks for the help guys.

Bryson, the Revo is a great platform. Just need to do some pre-run check ups. Blue thread loc and let it cure overnite. Just be glad it came off then instead of whil you are running. Did that and tore up my clutch bell and center diff on my Storm... PISSED ME OFF!!

Lol. I understand. It was the same for me at first. Nitro is (in my opinion) more complicated among others. Nitro beats everything up and there are many tweaks and presets. But once screws are tightened, diffs are shimmed, and everything is locked down and running in harmony it's a beautiful thing. Then your just replacing a a-arm or pillowball occasionally. Also, once you develop the extensive parts inventory, you will find headaches are farther & few between! :celb2:

No trust me I have tuns of extra crap laying around but I just dont have any of those little itty bitty washers, otherwise I'm just going to run and screw in the end of the crankshaft like on associated vehicles. I'm pulling the mill right now but in the mean time I'm messing with my rc18 and It just makes me want to do a brushless maxx build with it, now that would be cool! But too much money so ill just fix it and bitch lol.

Ok I just went out scounged threw my dads boxes of crap and found the small aluminum washers that we use when we pop rivet stuff. I drilled them out and put two on the crank shaft and it was a perfect fit. I then used a associated crank screw and some lock tight and am now letting it set up. It shure looks more heavy duty then that dumb ass lil c clip. Maby this will turn out to brighten up my crappy day lol. O well we will see.

Sounds like you are having a hell of a day haha. This was what I felt like after going through 3 sets of transmission gears because I didn't know the slipper for the spur was supposed to be loosened. After 3 drives to the hobby shop later (30 minutes to get there :() it was all up and running.

You should try to fix your car for yourself if you have the parts, it's a waste of time running there and back unless it's down the road.

Good luck.

I'm going to go run it in a minute to see how the new setup works out. Hopefuly this will solve my probles for a while. But I know if I run a tank ill have to replace a exaust seal tomarrow lol.

Let us know how it turns out....I would have guessed the clutch shoes or slipper as well.....I have found nitro very parts and maintenance needy.....but I love the smell, power and noise it makes......so I am stuck....

Hope it all works out for you..;)

O ya It WORKED great. I can't the nut stuck and the screw held and holy cow. I fired it up and droped it on the ground and just peged it(after warming her up a lil of course) WOW is all i can say. The front end stood strait up and poped one threw the gears(not me the car was poping a wheelie lol) I went down to the park section of my neighborhood to do a lil run and wow is all i can say. I hope the os18 I'm puting in my race truck has the power this 3.3 does. THe front end wouldnt go down. I also glad my neighbor hood nazi is gone because the 3.3 with a trinity is frickin loud. I so would have the cops on me in a minute if she was still here lol. But one question remains, i know the new shoes gave it more bite but the slipper shure helped so before I blow my transmission how tight do you guys set yours?

Hi Bryson if you read ur operating manual it'll tell you how to check your slipper for the correct settings. Personally I like mine tight enuff so when I hold the slipper in place it takes alittle bit of muscle to turn the wheels. Hope this helps Dan

Ya mines set pretty tight I think ill loosen her up a bit. Soon as I show off a little more lol.

Bryson

The looser it is the less punch you'll have, however the transmission will last longer for sure. I don't know if I said it before, but theres a little hole you can stick something in to stop the spur from spinning. Then when you do try to spin the spur it should be hard to move, but not too hard.

Seems like you have a fun day ahead of you (don't know what time zone). I hope the OS .18 has a poop load more power than this 2.5 does in my revo!

I'm shure anything is better than a 2.5 at least to me it was. I think I must have just got a sour 2.5 because that mill was trash. And ya now I got it running like a top and I'm headed up to the mountains for the weekend with a friend to camp. BUMMer for me. O well something to look forward to when I get home. Now if I could keep this sucker from breaking down then I can get to work on other projects. But I timed myself earlier, Pulled the motor and took the trans apart in 30 minutes flat and had the truck running and that includes making a new clutch bell reatainer. Thats pretty good, I think. Thanks for the help guys

Bryson

Ah thats good. Yeah, I hope to order some parts tonight, I'm already at close to 300 with 5 things! Hopefully spending all this money with make it that much better (30%?). Does the OS .18 have more or the same amount of power? Or do you guys recommend the 3.3 over the .18?

Personally I havent used my os yet but I'm shure it will have sufficent power. I would take it over the trx though just because of the tuning is better and holds better but who know. Just get the os you will be happy with it.

Bryson

Ok guys I have a new problem that is starting to piss me off more than ever. I can't keep the F-in front wheels on the ground lol. I give it gas for take off and boom on the lid it goes. Tune is perfect right now and wheelies are proving it. For all those non-belivers in the 3.3 should see mine, but anywho I'm not the only one that has this going on I'm shure lol. I was wondering if the wheelie bar on the 3.3 t-maxx would fit on a revo 2.5. Some body please because so far my bumpper mount is junk, body is trash, and head guard is taking a beating form second gear wheelies. Anybody have any sujestions on this. Thanks alot guys,

Bryson
