I'm having a problem with the lsn in my xterminator. it's the stock 24.7 motor. right now it's set fairly rich, but it's completely stuck and I can't turn it clockwise at all to lean it out. because of this I need to raise my idle speed and (otherwise it stalls constantly) I get very little punch of the line. any ideas as to what might be causing this? I've never seen or heard of this happening to anybody...

thanks.

Are you sure it is the LSN? I don't know your experience, but you could be trying to operate the mid speed needle-thing. It is on the opposite side as the LSN and could be pressed in, making it impossible to turn. May not be the case, but its worth a try. When you have the airfilter off, and look down the carb neck, open the carb all the way, the LSN should be going across inside the carb (horizontal).

also have you taken the LSN out at all, maybe dirt has gotten in the hole or maybe you crossed the threads.

edit: sorry wrong needle I ment LSN

umm... it is the lsn, I'm not stupid.

tarant, I'll try that, though I doubt it's the problem as I've never taken the hsn out... thanks

Seems to me you should be a little more thankful for his post.
He was extremely respectful in his approach and explanation.

Did he say you were dumb?
Did he disrespect you in any way?
Did he offer up a reasonable cause for the issue at hand?

If you answered “Yes” to more then one of these questions, you need to re-read his post and / or re-evaluate your attitude.

no hard feelings were meant... I guess I should have put that I already checked out all of the stupid mistakes..

the needle also could be rusted in the threaded area........soak the carb in some marvel mistery oil & break fluid mixed half & half for an hour or so........i had an OS18 that the hsn had gotten stuck.........worked for me.......

Have you tried to back the lsn all the way out? oops, just saw the edit. You may already have it all the way in but , maybe the lsn is bent or broken

I didn't take offense to it... I can't say i described what i was trying to say all that clearly either.

You get the thing working yet? :ponder2: I'm kinda wondering what the real problem is...

no not yet... I'm still trying to find some free time to work on it. I think this friday I may have some time...
