What is everybodys thoughts on these engines? What pipe works good with this engine? I may be looking for a new powerplant for my Mugen buggy.

The best choice in pipe is the STS 0403. I can get almost 11 minutes in my buggy with that combo. I am going to test out a couple of Thunder Tiger pipes tomorrow(2035 and 2039), and will report results later.

STS has had some QC problems lately. Cracked sleeves, broken cranks, broken bearings. All with the first two gallons. But if you get a good one, it is very good. A few weeks ago I drove my 8ight-T in a enduro race, a few times it ran for more that 30min without any hick ups. In all I ran almost a gallon through the engine in that one race, and it still feels like new. It works surprisingly well in a truggy.

Also their carbs are some leaky sob's. Either get some o-rings for a axial or HPI K4.6 carb, or put a RB/NovaRossi carb on it. Mine has just begun to tune erratically, and I suspect a leaky carb.

They have the potential to be great engines, but when I'm done with the two I have I'll be looking for something else. To many small issues IMO.

Hi,

I'm interested by the result of the 2039 with MKII.

Thanks.

Oh yeah forgot about that.

It absolutely rips with a short header and the 2039 pipe. It has more bottom snap then a Hellfire with the .28 HPI engine. And runs for a good 9-10 minutes in my truggy.
