so i stripped the thread on the stock exhaust where the grub screw goes i have heard something about a 'tapping driver' being used anyone care to shed the light on this i really dont want to have to buy another exhast this is as new, is there anything else i can do.

you can try to thread a differeny bigger screw in it i had it happen one time be4 and thats what i did

Are you saying you stripped the thread on the block? If so don't go bigger , just get longer screws. I am getting a Revo tomorrow so I will see what options you can do for exhaust. I will let you know.

I think he's talkin about the grub screw that you tighten down on the post at the end of the pipe.

yes thats the one I'm talking about the grub screw is just spining with the post in. its just loose if i take the post out it goes all the way in and is actuallly tight...I'm bodging it with tie wraps right now but i really dont want to do that for my first race meet this weekend...the only way i can see round this is to buy another exhaust from my LHS which is nearly double the price of getting it on ebay but wont get it in time for the weekend if i get it form ebay what a mess :loser:

As it sounds, and I'm guessing here, seems the threads in the pipe end are stripped, not the grub screw itself, right? If that is the case, you might try finding a grub screw just a bit bigger than the one you have and screwing that in. It may be enough to cut some fresh threads to grab the post to hold the pipe steady. You can also tap the pipe, if you have a tap and die set.

Last idea I have (and this is if you run out of ty-wraps) is lather the grub screw in blue loctite and let it dry before putting it in. It may be enough to hold your pipe through a race, but given the way I drive (and the luck I've had) it may make it from your pit table to the track, then tank on ya!

Gotcha.. You can get a different but larger one bu make sure the length isn't too long or it can get stuff caught on it. OR you can do what I would do.... UPGRADE!!!!

cheers guys i was unable to get a bigger grub screw today but when i got home i managed to bodge it in . i screwed the grub screw in at an angle and it held real tight fingers crossed it last the weekend I'm gonna have to sort out something moree permanent because this isnn't going to last if i have to take it off a few times during the day tie wraps it is then :(

I'm in the market for a new exhasut any suggestions apart from that one (trinity i think) that is really loud
