Second time now I have to replace the rear rims on my savage. The car has so much power I keep spinning the hubs in the rims. The guys at hobby shop say its better to keep buying the composit ones. I'm gunna look into the aluminum ones just for the heck of it. Has anyone ever had the same problem? If I loosen the slipper cluth it burns the disk way to hot. And I have the hub nuts real tight, its not because they work loose

Yeah, I have the same problem one one of my rims. I'm still running the 21bb mill and it's not as bad as you've describe, but... I'm thinking of JB welding a hex drive in the rim to take up the slack between the hex drive and the rim.

i had the same problem w/the hpi stock wheels. they're not worth a crap. i got some daggers, didn't have any problem w/them. i don't think hpi made the rims to last. when i stripped them out i was running the stock .21 big block. i don't think there was a whole lot of testing involved in this one.

I stripped the stock ones as well.. I've been using the hotbodies rims and it has never happened again..

I stripped mine too. I just ordered another set of stock wheels/tires from HPI. I didn't have extra cash to buy better aftermarket wheels and I wanted to get my truck back on the road.

Can anyone tell me what kind of wheels you are using? I'd like to change mine at some point, but I know I don't want to pay a ton of money for a new set. Any info you can give would be great. Please include tire type and sites/prices if possible.

i hear the hb wheels are excelent.. and at 10$ for 2.. well worth it..

Thanks a lot for the input. Those wheels look really nice and the price is right. Are they made out of something other than plastic? I'd be really upset if I ended up stripping some really nice rims.

rims

I was thinking of doing some kind of machine work to tweek it, but after lookin into it there isn't much room. I went to my lhs today and picked up a couple of pro line rims, cost twice as much as stock HPI so I figured they were mand better. I'll give them a try tonight. ....Be letting u know how they work. Thx for the comments
