Well finally broke down and gave in to technology and bought a Blu Ray player. I bought the LG BD550 for $89. nice player does a good job. Spins up the discs quickly. The best part, the part I've been waiting for though is to stream Netflix. The LG actually upconverts streams to 1080P unlike many other players. I know I could have streamed through my 360 or Wii but just did not want to fire up agame console just watch movies. I am thrilled now!

I'm sure you'll like it - I love my netflix. I've bought a Roku device so I could watch Netflix as well as Amazon videos. Best thing about the Roku I think is that I can search it's entire list of streaming movies right from my TV. Not sure about your BluRay but most I looked at would only play what's in my queue.

At any rate - Netflix does rock!

Yes I LOVE Netflix, I wish I had came up with that idea.

love streaming Netflix, I can watch on TV, Phone and Computer! Keep waiting on them to get streaming 3D.

Yep, I love it also. Got hooked on it when they added it to the 360 a couple years ago. Picked up a WD TV live plus not long back since it upconverts and does Dolby surround. Got an iPhone a couple days ago, works great on it too.

I love my Netflix. Have it on the computer. And on my iPod. So I can stream vids to my Touch wherever I am.

I have 2 main complaints though. I stream to my TV through my Wii. And it's 480p at best. To stream HD through my XBox would mean I have to also pay for XBox gold which is $50 a year. And I am not really an online gamer so it's a waste. The iPod will only output in SD, so that's a no-go. so I really can't watch Netflix in HD unless I buy a compatible HD device.

My second bitch is that there are few new releases available to stream. Most of the good movies are DVD-only and I really don't want to have to pay the extra and deal with sending them back and forth. I really wish Netflix would make an effort to put more new movies up for streaming.

For now I'll keep it. It allows me to catch up on some older movies that I've always wanted to see. But I'm sure after a few months I'll ditch it because there really aren't any good recent movies available.

Look into a WD TV live +, seriously....best money I've spent in a LONG time. Takes wear and tear off the known to be flaky Xbox 3.60, and it's solid state so it doesn't sound like a vacuum cleaner running when it's on. Plus, it will do full 1080p resolution. You can find them for about $100 online.

As far as the new releases, that isn't up to Netflix at all. If they had their way, the day the movie stores and satellite providers get the content, it would be available to stream instantly as well. But, unfortunately, that's up to the parent companies that own the rights to said movie, i.e. Universal, WB, Fox, etc.

I rarely steam netflix personally, but I'm on the 2 dvd's at a time deal. Usually go through 8 or 10 a month.

i had a WD TV live plus and it was always locking up. the seagate go flex TV is no better.

I just broke down, built and htpc and have never looked back.

windows media center, netflix, hulu and all the media storage i could ask for

Mine has never locked up once. Was it an early unit, that was possibly fixed with later firmware? Or was it possibly unsupported media formats, weren't you using Cuda or Swordfish or something? :p::hehe: HTPC's are cool too, I'll probably build a media server one of these days myself just to have centralized storage for all the devices I use to stream from.
