Strange Sound!!!!

Hey guys,
So if you don't know my dad and I have matching Axial wraiths. Now he is always telling me "you're going to break it driving like that". Well it's funny he should say that because now HIS is the broken one (; so here's his problem. He has swapped out almost everything on his wraith to Vanquish Products titanium upgrades. After doing that he ran his truck and stripped the spur gear. So we (I) replaced the old spur gear with a Robinson Racing hardened plastic spur. But it now doesn't sound right. It is much louder than mine. I think it may be that he got the Vanquish Axle housing. Now since its metal would that cause the sound to amplify more than plastic would?

Any advice is appreciated!!

Yes, it will absolutely make some noise.

Metal gears will be much louder than plastic. Some grease might quiet it down just a little bit.

but problem solved! He had cracked the front telescoping driveshaft and it was hitting the gear cover and the upper link...

nononono. i meant the axle housing!! http://www.vanquishproducts.com/wraithaxles.html i was thinking that now that the axle is metal and it was plastic before. So maybe the metal amplified the sound or something.

He must have dropped some serious coin on his rig. Vanquish products are very spendy. I went with STRC aluminum on my rig.
