After running in my engine very rich, I decided to check the carb settings cause it would die when coming to a stop recently. My LSN was only turned out a 1 and a 1/4 turns so I had my HSN turned out over 3 1/2 turns to compensate. As I opened up the LSN feul was starting to run out the exhaust. So I leaned out my HSN a bit more. I hope I did not damage my engine, I am going to tune her properly this after noon. She starts fine and there is plenty of compression still. Wonder what my LHS will say about this?

From the little I know about nitro engines (learning more and more each day) i doubt running really rich can hurt anything. I was running my engine extremey rich at first.....tons of juice dripping from the exhaust. Then after about 5 tanks started leaning out the LSN a hair and the HSN eventually almost 1/2 turn from the break in settings and my engine just screams now.

I found that when going back to the factory settings, I needed to turn out the LSNthen set the MRN. I then made a mark with a felt pen to designate the MRN alignment. When I turned the LSN in to touch I had to also hold the MRN so it would not turn (moved with the slightest touch from the LSN. Set those two the the HSN and started over. I also have found the HPI carbs will react to adjustments as little as about 1 or 2 minute changes (clock positions).
