Hey all, I have had the stomach flu for the last week and haven't been able to keep anything down. Does anybody know of something that will stop the vomiting. Sorry for being so descriptive but this sucks.

I had it a couple weeks ago it sucks I just drank a lot of pepto but honestly its something you just gotta let work out on its own. Sorry your sick man hope you get better soon.

dude i had that a few weeks back and I'm in the uk.
plague travels fast!!.
all i did was drink loads of water for a couple of day and that did it for me.
work thru it man good luck.

I had a case of what I thought was stomach flu at first this past weekend, but turned out to be a kidney stone. Kind of hard to ignore that searing pain after a while, lol. The worst part was, I couldn't keep anything down. Ever throw up water... Just water? It's like you're drowning. It sucks, bigtime.

I would recommend you think about seeing a doctor if it doesn't right itself soon, so you don't suffer any worse problems.

I had a bad virus last week that did me the same way. I had prescriptions. If you have to take over the counter stuff, go get some dramamine. It's like magic with nausea. If you can go to the doctor, ask them to give you finergan, which is generic for promethazine. That stuff is amazing, and when I'm that sick it's the only thing that will will help.

OK well I stopped vomiting. thank god. Now I have a "tummy ache" and am all dizzy. Does anybody know why? I mean I haven't eaten anything all week.

Doctor gave me some shot that made me sleep for about 18-20 hours straight, then pills that did the same thing. I slept for about 4-5 days with little awake time. I forgot about being sick after I came home from the doctor and laid down. Best sleep I've ever had in my life too, lol. I woke up one time in a puddle of drool, it scared me because I thought I'd threw up on myself in my sleep, but apparently that's just how good I was sleeping.

I'm fairly sure it was Phenergan? I'm not sure if thats what the shot was though.

Most likely that what the shot was. They give it a lot when a patient is suffering from sever nausea and they can't keep anything down, and then once the shot takes effect you can keep the pills down. Marauder spelled it right, its Phenergan.

Been there done that! That was the worst pain I ever experienced. The vomiting and dizziness sucked too.

The second worst is that darn stomach virus man that @#$% sucks.I feel for ya.

thanks for the sympathy. i can finaly keep stuff down but now I just don't feel like eating anything. What the heck, I haven't eaten all week and now i don't want to.

I think ya answered your own question there, lol. Try eating soft bland foods (like bread, crackers, etc). Also, try eating tomato soup. Just plain ol' Campbells Condensed will work. Go slow, and you'll be back to normal before you know it.

Your stomach shrinks when you are sick like that, so your appetite goes down also. Start by eating small meals, in a couple of days you should be back to eating normal amounts.

The most important thing to do is drink A LOT of fluids. Water, gatorade, and if you're sick, sprite or 7-Up. When you've been sick like that your body has a tendency to dehydrate, and that's often what causes people to have to go into the hospital. I think after being sick like that for a few days, it would probably be a good idea to see a doctor, especially after waiting that long.

Well i don't think I am dehydrated, I (all by myself) drank one of those culligan jugs in 4 days. I threw some of it up but I ended up peeing alot, and I have a fast motabolism, so I seemed hydrated. The pee was very white to clear. I maybe should see a doctor but last night I had some soup and a bit of toast, some soda crackers and a couple handfuls of bland popcorn. I am still to eat breakfast but I feel better today. My spirits are up and I feel more like myself again. I hope I can eat more today.
