Can changing the springs on the stock shocks improve performance rather than changing all shocks?

Yes they can if you chang to trinty's blue springs on the out side and trintys black on the in side will help.. but keep in mind with the heaver springs on the stock shocks will cause a lot more pressure on the shock caps witch are plastic. After time it will blow them out you will better off buying some traxxas big bore shocks IMO.. Hot bodies make a good shock to..But if you want to go big you can go with unlimited's super max shocks and only run 4 of them my :2cents:

Do yourself a favor if you would like, When you get the maxx, You could take off all (8) of the stock shocks, Go on ebay, And try to find OFNA 1/8 Scale buggy shocks, Just (4). They will last alot longer, And they are pretty much a must for bashing I think, They really dont break on a maxx, Unless you knock them the right way of course. Thats my opinion on it. BUT, Make sure they have whats called threaded bodies. It has threads going down the shock case to let you twist the top to adjust the spring level. Later.
