Can someone please help end an argument between a friend of mine and me? My friend has a Savage, and he seems to think his stock engine since it's a .25 means it's a faster / better engine than the .23 just because the number is bigger... I am still in the process of breaking my .23 in, and the friggen thing flipped over backwards from the power... He claims it's only doing that because it's not designed like a Savage and it to small to support the engine, and since his is a 1/8 scale, his doesn't flip over... Does anyone have anything out there that can help end this argument?

Since the t-maxx is lighter It is going to lift up with less power that want is needed to flip a savage.
Your t-maxx should be faster than his savage but dont let all that speed go to your head. Because after 45MPH you wont have good control over it.

Sounds like your friend likes to argue and thinks his poop doesn't stink. You should wake him up with your powerhouse maxx lol. His engine is a tiny bit bigger but your maxx is lighter than his savage and your engine isnt that much smaller than his savage engine. When you get your maxx fully broken in then that will settle most of the argument hope you get it worked out.

As for speed a Sirio .23 powerd T-Maxx would kick a stock savage's ass. But, I'll bet your maxx will break a lot more often than your friends Savage. :hammer:

I own a savage because of it's durability, not because of speed. Actually I thought stock Maxxes could be stock savages off the line anyway? But basically yes, I bet your Maxx is faster than a stock savage, but not as durable as a stock savage.

The stock S-25 is a pretty good big block engine. A medium block Sirio 23 in a T-Maxx should be able to beat a stock Savage with an S-25.

A stock T-Maxx with the TRX 2.5 should be able to wheelie no problem. The T-Maxx has a clutch inside the transmission in addition to the normal engine clutch. The transmission clutch allows the motor to rev up pretty high before engaging and that helps if you want to wheelie.

I was more intrested in power / speed, durability I don't care much about, if I break it, I REALLY tried to break it... I have almost every piece that hardcare racing makes for the maxx, all gears robinson racing makes, stacked with unlimited engineering's EXT Susspension kit on it... I figure with what I am doing, I want all aluminium / titantim everything :) I'm going to upgrade to UE diff's next, but I'm pushing about $5k on my truck now, and another $400+ for diff's is kinda hurting the pocket book :) Thanks for the info / oppinions.

See, thats the difference, you spent almost 5k on your truck (holy poop!) to make it faster and as durable as a savage. Where as say you 20 bux on diff gears for a Savage for the 4-Spider mod, and say 200$ for a race engine and you have a savage that is faster and as durable as a 5k T-Maxx. This is why I went with the savage.

I disagree thats not true. My savage looks a lot beter than yours probaly. I hate shiny. Also if you bend all your precsous aluminum(you will if you run your maxx like some run thier savages) you have to pay to fix it=reall exspensive. If i were you i would use rpm=5 dollars to fix or you can send it back and get new one for free. That is just my opnion. Even if yours does look cooler i would rather have function than looks. Thats why in 30 minute a-main your "cool looking" truck would stop within 5 minutes and my truck would finish. It may not finish 1st but at least i would finish and to me thats pretty damn good.

This just how i feel. I started with a block of aluminum t-maxx, I got killed in race and decided to build for performance not looks.

Sorry but thats just how i feel.

I have to agree with PiErow why spend tons of money on aluminum that will bend when you can get rpm stuff taht wolnt, and if you dont care about bending then still if you go with rpm stuff then you save on weight I'm with him i go for performance not looks.

Yeah, but mine looks cooler :)

LoL, maybe so, but 5k for a cool looking truck that probably won't finish like PiErow said??

lol 5K? I dont even have $1000 and I know my Savage could rock a t-maxx in bashing, and maybe even in track racing( but does that count when 90% of it is the driver?) why spend 5K on a rc car when you could have 4 rc cars nice looking, instead of having one truck tricked out.

I spent 5k cause it gives me something to do :) There are only about 10 pieces left on it that are stock at all, it started out as simple upgrades, then became a mission to replace all pieces... I'm probably going to get a Revo and do the same thing all over again... it's just what I do...

I can spend 700$ and build a kit and keep me occupied for a while. It doesn't take 5k to entertain me. But thats just me.

If you dont mind asking how old are you Temlon?
If you dont mind can I get your address so I can ship you my savage to hop it up lol j/p
I am glad to see you have the money to make these things nice, good luck with the revo.

Someone has got the Green,Cashola, moola lol i know I'm jsut saving, i have 1500 but I'm not dumping it into r/c stuff I'm saving to hopup a real vhicle. if i want something durable and dependable ill just spend 530$ ona savage (that includes hopups) and thats not even near 5k. hey what ever floats your boat, what ever tickles your fancy ok thats enough.lol

I'll update my gallery to post more recent pictures of my truck, the ones on there are kinda old, I have the Pro-Line PowerStroke shocks on it now, the new Sirio .23 engine, and replaced my skids with titianum... and to answer the age question, I just turned 25.
