Well, I did my stock rims yesterday, and they turned out pretty cool. First, getting the tires off the rims was a pain :hammer: , but it's part of having a hobby. I tried the boiling method on one, and it didn't work too well for me. So, I pryed the tires off the rims, which left behind alot of rubber and ca glue in the rim grooves. So, I bought some acetone from Home Depot, and soaked them for an hour, and everything came off the rim, nice and clean. I then boiled the rims in RIT Scarlet red, but wasn't happy with the results due to the rims being pretty scratched up. I then scuffed the rim with a light steel wool pad, to get off all the brushed aluminum finish, and reboiled them. I slapped some new Maxx tires I got off ebay, and viola, I now have "new" rims for under $5.00. I'll eventually upgrade to some Proline 40's, but this is definately a cheap, cool way to customize the look to stock rims. This hobby is definately getting more addicting, and expensive than my custom Harley I built last year!! But, it keeps my mind occupied, and me outta trouble!! Sorry about the pix, they're off my webcam. Thanks for all yer help.
