are there any tricks to getting the 4 way pins installed into the end of the drive shafts on a 2.5?

Practice? Push it in.

As bad as it sounds. 100% correct. Worst part is you can't use something hard to help you as it will score the plastic in which case it will break again, and you can't use something soft because, well, it's useless. Best mod I've done so far is my cvd kit.
 
i saw an ad for a tool that is used to but the u joint back in the axle. let me see if i can find it.

edit: apparently that is the "tool" at the top of this pic

So thats whats that is for.... I have 2 of them.. Oh well I've got a super driveshaft now. I wish I would have known that before.. wouldnt have had so many sore fingers. :)
