the factory setting is your .7 to 1mm gap there is no number of turns on it just where ever it needs to be to get your gap correct

Agreed.

Test this gap with the engine off. You should be able to apply FULL brakes and this gap will stay opened and never shut close.

Anything else you will need to check the other needles.

I recommend that you tune in this order once the gap is set properly.

Tune your HSN ( High Speed Needle ) its the one in your pic that is verticle. Get the the best top speed without any stuttering due to being too lean or rich. Then move to the LSN ( Low Speed Needle ) and adjust for the best accelleration. Once attained, you may need to adjust your Idle so it doesn't idle too high.

This advice is given with a basis that your ride is at operating temperature.

Thanks, it's all set now, runs way better, and I was able to readjust the links as well. A systematic approach would have been to start at the idle stop screw, factory on LSN and HSN and then see where the problem is. I went backwards, because I would have not assumed (ass U&me, I know) that the idle could be offset that bad. Apparently system counts, who knows what the previous owner thought...
I'll get a better feel for the temps once this bugger has had a few high speed runs... tonight, can't do it while my neighbor is working outside. He busted a gut because they bought their son a little electric 5mph toy-thing which he was driving around their yard and then Mr. Revo started screaming up and down the road... LOL
Thanks again and sorry for my confusing posts.

Thats a great temp range for the TRX 2.5, I normally run mine around 245-255 with good performance.

I'm glad it's coming together for you!

Finally... it took a while for these guys to convince me that I was doing something wrong. If people can't really duplicate your problem, chances are you haven't duplicated it yourself. And the prior owner didn't help either, he screwed it up in the first place...
You won't believe how glad I am to be here!
