can't wait til the rain stops, seems like all I do is search online for parts and talk on here. No offense, but Id rather be outside going for a run with the maxx. Love the nitro, but maybe time to look at getting a fall/winter/spring rig:) ie:electric revo or something.
 
Haha I know the feeling, I couldnt play most of the winter because I am into crawlers n scalers and can't play in the snow/mud

U can run ur tmaxx in the rain. With the proper precautions, its darn near waterproof. I take mine out n the rain with NO PROBLEMS. just a few mods and care afterwards and its all good. I got an emaxx as well,but they r not near as fun as nitro. although it is cool to drive it in the pool. I tied a balloon on, put on my paddle tires and threw it in and used it as a submarine.
 
Thats funny.. I never heard of usind it as a bobber.. l.o.l. And yeah the tmaxx's are pretty durable i have submerged mine pretty good first time being an accident and realizing it will take it. u just don't wanna let it sit there an saturate after your run gotta clean it and dry it pretty good.. I have ran all my nitros through 3 ft of snow, bout foot of water, 6-8 inches of mud, rain and sunshine and it still loves the beatings. all stock..

The only problem with that is getting your transmitter and yourself wet put it in a plastic bag.The TX not you.LOL:p:
 
I don't even want to hear it :p: I busted my tail last week to tear the Baja apart for some needed maintenance in what little free time I've had. Knew they were calling for rain all weekend, left work an hour early Friday, went and got mixing oil and gas, and as I was pulling in the driveway the flood gates opened and it didn't let up for three days straight. Yes, I can run it in the wet conditions, but just don't care for the cleanup.
 
Man Hope Rolex doesn't see this thread he will freek or cry lol, all he does is look at his cars lol (just kiding rolex just fun and games) still like your rigs though

So you expecting us to believe that you ran a tmaxx through a foot of water? So deeper than the truck stands, thus the motor completely submerged, and it did not take in any water? I disagree.
 
I kinda agree with alpine. A foot of water with a tmaxx seems kinda extreme. An emaxx, yea absolutely, but a t, I dunno bout that. I've done a good amount of waterproofing my 3.3 but I still won't run in anything but rain, puddles, etc. As far as my waterproofing, I've got waterproof servos, balloon wrapped rx box, motor saver outer filter screen. I also run a buggy body with minimal wheelwell cutout( just enough to always have wheel clearance). Doesn't hurt to put some duck tape over the lil holes in the wheels to stop water from reaching ur foams. this setup has not failed me.
 
Trashed the foams on my Gv by not covering the holes up in the wheels didn't think about it about a week later looked like i had 4 flat tyres . Thankfully my Lhs give me a set of free one's to try they just got in . Was blastin through a good 3 inch's of water

Ya I learned the hard way too. I'm still squeezing out water from an old set.lol and its been bout a year
 
I run mine in the rain all the time. I've never done any waterproofing to it, and I've never had problems with the electronics. You just have to make sure you get them good and dry before you let it sit until the next run. I usually just fire up the air compressor and blow as much of the water and mud off as I can.
 
Mine still run and yes a foot thats why the first time my heart was in my throwght. Didnt realize how deep it was. and they all still run and think about it if you are clipping right along it dont matter how deep(welll to en extent) it pushes a bunch of it to the side so a foot is now 8 inches or less deep cause it gettis displaced. It seems like for the most part people are always trying to prove someone wrong. you all kill me!!!!!!! Just like hqtitan said as long as it doesn't sit saturated it will be fine or if you stop it in a foot of water that might kill it. and if you look at post i said about a foot.

never thought of coverin the holes in the rims though. good idea i have always squeezed my tires till not much comes out anymore but keeping it out to start with a hole better idea.
 
I know this is a super old thread, but it is still raining and sh**ty out here....with the odd nice day for bashing. Am I complaining, you bet your ass I am!!! I want to get outside with my T maxx and go for a rip!!!! I've got a gallon of nitro that I have had for a few weeks already, and havn't even used a quarter of it yet.:censored::deadhorse:jittery:


This is where it would be nice to have an electric like a Slash or something like it. Lots of indoor tracks to take an electric here too.
 
Yer it sucks wen it rains not unless you have waterproof Servo's and all that but then you gotta spend hours cleaning it .
 
If I'm cleaning, means i am running my rig!! I would be willing to sacrifice some time for cleaning if I could just go out more than once every 2 weeks. Bet you deal with alot of rain where you are too, hey Jacknife? or do you have waterproof servos?
