ok i was bashing yesterday at the campground and we made a ramp. After a few jumps/bad landings my steering got messed up. It would steer but not fast at all or sharp. so i took it apart and cannot find the problem. While Takign it apart i noticed the Lower A-arm pin was broke and i replaced it thinking that was the problem but it wasn't. The wheels are always facing left, and it turns good when i do it rapidly, but when i stopped with the wheels to the right, and straighten it out, the servo moves but the wheels dont. Sorry for the long post.

Check your servo, I think you have stripped the steering servo gears. When off can you manually turn the wheels and hear the gears inside moving?
 
It kind of sounds like you may have messed up your servo, First thing I would try is make sure that when the servo is unhooked from the steering linkage that you can move the wheels back and forth with no resistance, if every thing moves smothly then look at your servo it could be the servo saver if you are running one is broken, I would hold it in place with your hand and use the controler to see if the servo is trying to move the servo saver in both directions, just narrow it down till you find where the problem is...if it is not steering linkage or the servo saver then its probably time for a new servo... this would be a good replacement http://www.rcplanet.com/Hitec_HSC_5998_High_Torque_Servo_p/hrc35998s.htm
 
when its off and i turn the wheels i can't hear anything.

ok i went out and when i move the wheels with the sevo connected i can only hear it a little moving. But i took the link thing off the servo and there was nothing conected to the servo, and it moves fine, it has torque and everythings good with the servo. when its connected the wheels have too much play in them. if its not the servo, and i buy this and install it would it fix the problem? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380051558600
 
Before you go out and buy that check all of you linkage when it is unhooked from the servo, your pillow ball set screws might be to tight or some thing might just need to be tightened or loosened a little..or like jon said it could be stripped out.
 
ok, but if the servo is stripped how come its moving fine when nothings connected to it, and has torque
 
IMO the servo is stripped. Put a load on the servo and see if it jumps a tooth or more. You will feel it move too fast. Leave the TUrnbuckle on with the servo horn and manually pull it back and forth to turn the servo. Let us know.
 
servo is fine, everything works great with it. Just the steering setup when i took it apart i think i lost a part or 2 so i just ordered that new one

sounds like a servo saver issue? the big gaulky thing that attaches to the servo itself. the stock one sucks!

have you checked your rx batteries?

could it be the one steering knuckle. but if it was that i would be able to hear the servo more then i do. like i said the servo is good, just the wheels have too much play in them.
