When I turn on my T Maxx the wheels turn hard right. The servo was garbage so I bought a new Hitec Hi torque servo and guess what I am still having the problem. I thought it could be a wiring problem cause I found an exposed wire in the battery box.

Anybody have any ideas?

When I put in the new servo I first turned on the transmitter then the Tmaxx. Then I let the servo center itself, and I attached the servo saver.

Let me also mention that it does not stay turned to the right constantly. It iwll work fine for a few minutes left and right and then BOOM it turns hard right on its own.

It sounds more like a receiver problem than the servo, since it's doing the same thing. Did you ever run the car in wet grass or hit puddles with it? You might want to pick up some tuner cleaner at Radio Shack, open the receiver and blast it on the circuit board. If it got a little damp in there, there could be some corroded contacts now, even though it has dried on it's own.
That's the first 'quick fix'. Hopefully that's the only problem.

OK turn off the truck and see if you can turn the wheels left and right without any problems. If you feels it fighting , you got some binding. A place to check are the pillow balls an the axle carriers. I found mine doing the same thing and it was me not cleaning those out. If you clean the truck and not blow everything out you can get build up of gunk in those places causing binding.

Would binding cause the the truck to jump to hard right turn from center for no reason??

Please clarify this. I am not quite sure of your question.

I am the new owner of this truck. I bought it from "Tac Racing". I havn't run the truck hard or in the wet weather, however the rubber seal that covers the crystal is missing.

I found a wire in the battery box showing wire. Not sure if that does anything?

If you're talking bare wire, insulate it. I'm still thinking it's a receiver glitch.
Binding might make it stay to one side, or make it stubborn to turn, but it would be a glitch to make it suddenly got to the right on it's own. Check the whole system for bare or exposed wire. Also check for any metal to metal contact that would vibrate when it's running.
Does it only do it when the engine is running, or will it do it at any time?

IT happens regardless of the engine running. I am going to call Hitech tomorrow to see if they can eliminate the servo from the problem. I have the original servo from Traxxas and I thought about putting it in to see if it happens.

I am going to inspect the wiring tomorrow.

Tac seems to think its the Hitech servo needing more power???? He wants to help me put on a battery pack.

Any servo can benefit from getting a better pack that is rechargeable and 6V. But Do like Rolex suggested and insulate any exposed wiring. I wound try and use heat shrink IMO if you can.

Since you already switched servos and it still does the same thing, you need to try the next step. Switch crystals. Borrow a set if you don't have extras. The tuner cleaner will also give you a better connection there.

When I said binding, I was talking about the pillow balls. What the truck is apparently doing is locking to the right without assistance. It isn't getting stuck. It is turning right and staying there.
The rubber seal that aml spoke about is the rubber cap for the receiver that gives you access to change the crystal without opening up the receiver cover.
If there is any foul contact in the receiver, I do think that it is "slightly" possible that it could have some moisture in it due to the fact that it is cold outside, and you keep the truck in the garage.
I still don't think that is the problem.
I am going to call hitec as well.
Talk to you guys tomorrow.

thanks rolex and jon2, and aml, catch you tomorrow.

Well check your electronics as that is easier to determine.

I just called Hictec and they told me that it is a good posibility that it is my AA batteries not delivering enough amps to the High torque servo. He a suggested Nicad pack should solve the problem.

Check to see if the rods in the front is bent. Since you said the rubber part for the receiver is missing see if the crystal has dirt, is moist or anything. Are You running the  orginal "TQ3"? Cause if you should are you upgrade it to a better radio, because the radio is just to get you started/ use for a little while.
