I have a t-maxx and I'm using a hitec high-torque servo for the steering..

Problem is that the servo doesn't seem to have enough power to turn the tires then the truck is stationary, is this normal?

Also I notice that if I move the tires manually then it seems that my servo saver is slipping around the gear on the servo.. Is there a larger gear that I can use for the servo so that it doesn't slip or is this all normal?

Is it wise to do away with the servo saver all together and just run a alumnium servo horn for the steering?

only if you like replacing servos every run, thats why they call them "servo savers".

proline makes a kit that eliminates the servo saver from the servo itself and puts a cam setup in the steering post. its alot better setup.

also on a maxx and revo if you overtighten the pillowball caps it puts strain on the steering.

BTW what hitec servo are you running?

Not sure what servo it is, I dont have the truck with me but ill check when I get home.. I went and bought a new servo saver since I'm thinking that I was using the wrong gear that came with my saver..

ya, different brand servos have different size splines. that could very well be the issue if you have the stock saver on a aftermarket servo. hope you get it resolved.

Thanks.. I read on a website that the #3 Traxxas insert will work with the Hitec servo so I'm going to try that now.. I know my old servo saver was a Traxxas brand and it worked perfectly with the Hitec servo if I could find it in my house.. :(

i run a jrz650m servo w/ the stock traxxas servo saver and a servo guard-pretty durable. i use to run a ofna big servo saver-but i couldnt use the guard and like using a servo guard cause theres just way to many rocks where i run. but hitec makes good servos-has anyone tried the new traxxas waterproof 2075 i think servo on their trucks.
