I have been using one Airtronics 357 for my steering servo. Would I be better off using a 358? The 357 is the speedier of the two, but the extra torque of a 358 makes sense, too. I have both (and back ups, too) so it is a simple swap. Using the HD spring and PL arm.

I like my T/B servo to be alot faster than my steering...the torque is better for when you are hammering a turn at WOT...you'll see the weaker ones start to let the wheels wander a lil.....or of real big and bad landings...if the higher torque servo is used you have more chance of being able to "point and Shoot" the car in the direction you want w/o the wheels being shifted from being overpowered.......

That's what I figured. I can't remember the logic that made me put the 357 in there in the first place. OK, something to do tonight.

BTW, I have a few pics of my Revo with a CP2 body I slapped together. I can pm them to someone if they want to help me resize and post.

i guess you already have the 358, but another good one for anyone who doesn't is the Hitec 645MG. 120 oz. or so and decently fast. you can usually get one for about 40 bux. pretty good bang for the buck.

I've been using the 645's in my buggy set ups, but for th Revo, since it is going to be mroe of a racer than anything else, I went the extra bucks and got the 357's and 358's.

Definitely the 358 for steering, you want the torque for sure. It's funny how different parts of the country people use different brands. Around here, you can't hardly find anything airtronics except M8's and M11's. JR is pretty popular here.

ok... are there kits i can buy where i build my own servo? it seems airtronics sells a bunch of parts... can i buy one of their kits? i have been using the hitec 459, but i believe I've been turned to airtronics... so about the kits....

mallagna, I can't think of any, sorry.

Well, I decided to use a new 845MG i had. Put it in and man was that thing strong. Real smooth, too. Noiser than the 357 but a lot stronger. Then, while resetting endpoint, all of sudden the wheels stopped going left and right. First I thought it was the battery going dead. Nope, stripped the servo horn fitting. Well, off to buy the 5345X kit to adapt the servo to the proper servo horn. So much for jerry rigging it! Love the extra torque. Don't know what I was doing the first go around!

Last thing I typed last night and was in the dark. 945MG!

what am i, chopped liver? ah well. thats what i meant about mine too. not 459, 945. I'm a tad dislecsic. i had that, but it burnt up on me. it was just sitting there while i was tuning the engine, and it started smoking. i sent it into hitec, but it got "lost in the mail." now i have no steering servo, unless i want to use a single traxxas one. it will work i suppose. my revo isnt going anywhere anyway, with all the parts i still need for it. i suppose its for the best though. i think i will like switching to airtronics. a tad more expensive, but more torque and much faster... cool.

i use the hitec 5945 turns the wheels on carpet with big joes, just hate that annoying beep
