i recently changed my steering servo to a hi torque futaba and i reused the stock steering arm my screw keeps coming loose on it and i lose steering. Should i use some threadlock on it or should i change the arm to one that came with the servo? The teeth on the stock and the futaba looked almost identical

Try changing it to the arm that came with the servo first, did it come with hardware to mount it? if so, use that.

umm does your savage have a cam servo saver in the steering post? if not do NOT use the arms that came with the servo. the horn (arm) attaching to the servo has the servo saver built in and the ones with the servo doesn't.

Kimbrough makes a nice heavy duty servo saver for a few bucks thats a great upgrade if you dont have the cam type servo saver.

your new high torque servo probably has metal splines where the skrew skrews in, alittle blue locktite will help keep the screw in.

what is the servo saver? all i did was change the servo it was same spline as stock the stock arm is stripped i jus ran it and the screw stayed tight but the arm was slipping in the gear

from what i understand a servo saver, when your out bashing and you flip your rig, its a plastic peice on the end of your servo that takes the shock instead of your servo. If you didnt have a servo saver you would def destroy your servo.

oh i kinda understand it actually was fine til i was trien to master the 2 wheeling in my street in front of my house i guess hi torque servo and asphalt dont mix well but i may have not stuck it on correct when i changed the servo i only had 5 tanks thru it and then the steering issue started happening i gna check nto a upgrade for the steering arm
