Hey Guys,

Looking for a steering servo for an SC10. Not looking to break the bank. What are you guys using? Thanks

Tom

In both my Slash and 4x4 Slash I still have the stockers. When either dies I will be putting a Hitec HS-5645MG that I have laying around. Paid about $35 for it on feebay.

Yeah I never messed up a stocker in my 2wd's or in my 4wd slash. They do the trick pretty good imo.

Look into Savox servos. Getting rave reviews, and they are pretty light on the wallet ;-)

Generally I use the stock servos until they die too, but the SC10 is the factory team kit and didn't come with any servos. I don't have anything lying around other than a couple of old JR servos that came with my JR Radio. I believe they are plastic gear so they wouldn't last long.

Is the 5645 compatable with Lipo batteries? Thanks

Tom

In this application it is.

When replacing a NiMh pack with a LiPo pack to power the ESC, you can run any servo you want since the ESC is what is sending the juice to the receiver/servo.

Where you have to be careful is when you wire it up using a BEC to power the servo directly from the battery, but this is mainly used for high power steering servos used in crawlers.

Thank you for the info Rob. As always good stuff my friend. Thank you

I'm getting ready to set up two SC trucks with lipos. I've been away from racing for years and dug a few Hitec HS-645 MG servos out. They are labeled Hitec/JR/Z. Does this make any difference?
