Servos?

Hitech is good product the price could be a bit high so shp around you should be able to get that one a bit cheaper unless its Metal geared. If you are using one servo for steering you should go for Metal gears and better the servo saver so you dont kill servos unneccessarily. its really up to you if you run one or two servos for steering, however you should consider how effective the setup is at the moment and what you are trying to achieve. If you responsive steering the 2 servos are working in unison to achieve the
4WD optimum for the kind of terrain you are on. If you swap to one servo the response is conditional to the linkages being in good condition, and the quality of the single servo as it the only link to your reciever. If you are looking at saving money on servo's, keep shopping for discounts and look on Ebay for bargains.

Don't cut the bump stops unless they serve absolutely no purpose with your upgrade or for the puropse of any future upgrade you can forsee. I've cut stuff off my truck knowing after the upgrade it will never be reverted to old. Just be judicious about what you cut and why.

The HS-965mg is one of the servos that was recommended to me when I asked for recommendations on a single-servo steering setup. It should be fine.

Ya I'm just going to run it till it takes a crap. Tonight at the track I'm just going to run my stock setup. Then next week ill install my tekno crap and servo and try that set up.

Yeah a 645 should do you just fine. That is what I am running in my TMAXX.

Bryson, go to Traxxas' web site and look for the Slayden mod's. I shaved the bump stops down, as he describes, and immediately enjoyed a lot more steering throw. I know Jet did the same thing, as have many others, and it never caused any problems. Sucker will turn on a dime once you do it!

Yep guys I'm doing all the mods that Slayden did to his steering and I just ordered all the Tekno bundle crap. Baisacly all i need now is a damn personal trasponder. THose things are expensive too.

IMO Personal Transponders are a luxury to be bought after all your other R/C needs have been fulfilled.

I other words they re not a must have.

Pay attention at the track to what transponder you have been assigned and who was assigned it before you and you should have no worries.

Get your necessities first.

Again, Just my humble opinion.

I would but the track owner said that they were going to be manditory withen the next few weeks. But ill just keep my eye on ebay for a cheap one and pick it up then.

Just to clarify, you shaved the bump stops but kept the stock servos and haven't had any problems? I was wondering about doing that :)
