Every time I fine adjust the steering with the remote control it seems to go back to drifting either left or right after a few minutes. Could this be down to a poor quality steering setup with a RTR car? What is the best way to track the car's steering? at full throttle or slow speed? I would guess at full throttle ... however this makes the task very difficult.

The remote control is a Jaguar is a AM 27Mhz 8216 controller with the two paddles.

Are the gun type remote controls better with a wheel and trigger setup? or is it really down to preference?

Thanks for any help!

In the USA, UK, and Japan - where RC is most prevelant - Pistol type controllers are the standard, and the twin paddle type you are using is not available anymore. Switching to the pistol controller will drastically help your driving technique.

I still see guys at races piloting their buggies with the airplane style TX's believe it or not and they do quite well. They are the "older crowd" if you will but it works for them. One of them inperticular is one of my biggest local challengers as we go head to head a lot in races. We keep it cleen most the time but I have dropped the f-bomb once or twice for a blatent T-bone.

I guess I should change to a Pistol type controller before I get too used to the paddles! Any recommedations in what to look for a good pistol controller (make, buttons, number of batteries, etc)? ... bearing in mind that I am a newbie and the one with everything but the kitchen sink is probably not required just yet!

Also is it true that rechargeable batteries cannot be used in the controller and receiver as they do not provide the correct total voltage? (I'm sure that I read this somewhere, but I just don't want to believe it!)

Thanks,

JR XR3i was a great starting radio for me. It was basic enough but had all the feature that I grew into.
