no such thing as a retard question, if you dont know then you need to ask, imo

HPI makes a cheaper steel spur if you want to go 47T:

I run a plastic 47T, haven't seen the need for a steel spur. You need to run a hardened clutch bell with a steel spur, like this 15T one.

The hardened bells are available in numerous sizes.

Ya but it does not say if its hardened:http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLST7&P=M

It works well with my motor and 2-speed trans. My primary use is racing on an off-road track.

THANKS EVERYBODY !!!!

Tonight i got another question about a spur gear, View attachment 5352, when the pad and the threads, that the pad was sittin in, has completly disapeared:gulp: could it be that cuz i changed tires to the big joes, or that the spur screw was too loose ? But i set it right...1/2 turn out from full PLUS i had put threadlock, could that screw come loose anyway ?

You had your slipper about a 1/4 turn too loose to start with. The stock setting is actually closer to 1/8th of a turn from tight, but I like to run mine at 1/4th from tight.

It is conceivable that the slipper could have came loose on its' own. I have experienced it myself. It takes literally three throttle pulls before the truck becomes sluggish. I've also came up with a fix, detailed in the "Savage slipper coming loose - the fix!" thread.

Hey, Heartbreak, do you have a link to the thread you speak of?

thanks, Heartbreak. That was interresting. cool mod, for sure. I had a really crappy time with my slipper in the beginning and eventially, I got annoyed enough to mod in a dirrectdrive spur gear and I haven't looked back since. I think the danger to the tranny is way over-rated. The reverse modual is the real pain in the butt compared the the dirrectdrive setup. Thanks again, Heartbreak.
