I recently purchased a used Nitro Evader ST, when I started it I learned (witin about 5 seconds) that the clutch bearings were toast. Bye bye spur gear. When I replaced bearings and gear, it wouldn't move. Found that the diff gear was trashed. So, I replaced the diff gear, and inspected everything else. It all looked good. I started it up and ran it for around 5 min. and then it quit moving. Bye bye diff gear...again.
I have seen where people have said they put steel gears in there trannys.
So far all I have been able to find is the hardened aircraft aluminum diff gears.
Is there a company that makes all 3 gears for the tranny, and if so does anyone know the website address so I can look at them? Maybe an off the wall price for them?:\

Duratrash...... If you are having that much trouble, the car is worn out. If it is equipped with a slipper clutch, it's defintely set way too tight. If the engine and radio gear is good, strip it down and buy a better brand r/c. I think Motogod has a Losi 1/10th stadium truck for sale at a good price in the BST forum.
Duratrax makes a nice looking product, but all their products have quality issues if you actually do more than put around the yard.

I was kinda wondering about that.
I'll have to check out Motogods Losi.
Thanks for the info Scrogg
The engine is a Peak Racing Diablo .15 and sounds real healthy.
Not knowing much about nitros yet, Is that an engine brand worth using? Do they stand up to moderate abuse? As it sits here it looks like new (the engine that is) and it looks like the shassis has been around the block a time or two.

I've never heard of the engine but I would definetly pull it and try to use it again. No harm in that. I'd have to agree w/ Scrogg, your truck sounds wore out. Probably much cheaper to find a good roller.

If it runs good, you have a good one! Peak is out of the Nitro engine business I believe.
They released a .28 that was horrible.

I somewhat agree with the others guys also, but I too have a Evader st that I love. It was my first nitro so I learned alot with it. I still have it along with a Savage and rustler. But I got mine used and all the gears were metal except that small one (i forget the name of that gear). It was plastic and it stripped all the time. My local hobby store here in Columbus,OH stock a metal one. Dont know if its aluminum or steal, but I havent had a prob since. I still run the stock .18 DTX that i modded, and its fast as hell. It does break alot, but I dont mind much. Evader parts are cheap and its fun to fix it. Thats just me.
