when ever i try to start my car my roto truns just fine but the internals arnt catching so its not spinning the piston to start it..... does anyone know what the problem is???

Thanks

Keith

no i havnt my brother was messing wiht it today though and totally did everything wrong so i think its on the inside. i think he did something to it though that wont let it turn over

Is the one way bearing backwards? Sounds like it is something to do with the one way bearing if the thing is cranking but not spinning the piston...

no he just put in the roto and turned it, but earlier this morning i was running it jsut fine but i tried to runit around 5 and the roto was still spinning but the nothing inside did and i havnt touchd the bearing sence I've had the car

hi
i would just replace the 1 way bearing they just ware out and dont cost to much

can anyone send me a link of one because i searched all over tower hobbies for a one way bearing

thanx

naw same thing....go to towerhobbies and search for savage then click on the rotostart --- down at the bottom it has a link for this one way bearing

thanks but are u sure that its the one way bearing

can never be sure without seeing the truck but...it never hurts having a spare anyway

thats the best guess......or maybe a broken crankshaft (lets hope thats not it)

Pmoyer, if you buy the roto-start for an SS kit you have to use the bearing out of the pull start. I know because I bought the roto when my pull start bearing went out only to discover I still had 2 buy a oneway bearing!:smoke:

If it's spinning, but not engaging, you need to remove the roto start assembly, make sure that's working, and if it is, you need to open the back plate and check the pin. It's in the center of the crank, through the connecting rod. Don't lose it. It's small.

ok my roto start is fine I've check'd it out but when my roto start spins inside only the slot for the roto start spins nothing else spins

Did you pull the rotostart backplate off the truck to check its operation? Thats the only way to check your one way bearing.

Yeah, if its spinning the shaft on the crank, but not cranking, its internal. If its spinning and not turning the shaft, its most likely the 1-way bearing. One way to check would be to pull off the roto start plate and try to spin the shaft comming out of the engine. If it spins easily, you have some trouble. If its not turning, its probably the one-way, but another way to tell is just to take off the backplate and look for yourself.
