Hey guys, I noticed this morning when I started the truck for the first time of the day, it engaged for about a second, then stopped turning the motor. All the while, it was making a hissing sound, sorta like air coming out of an aresol can. I removed the starter, engaged it again, and the same thing. I had to do this like four or five times, before it finally started rolling over properly. Any ideas what this could be? The starter is fully charged, so I know its not that.

Another thing I noticed and this is also a first. When I finally got it started, I let it run for a min or so to warm up, and when I went to engage the throttle, it would rev up, and the motor was clearly under a load, the server was engaging properly, but the truck wouldn't go anywhere. After flooring it 2 or 3 times, it finally kicked in and took off. Is this possibly a tuning issue? Maybe too much fuel, and not enough air?? The servo batteries are good, I changed those out yesterday. Sorry for all the questions, I'm still new and all. Thanks

T.

Clean your one way bearing to eliminate the starting problem. My T Maxx will lock up every once in a while after hard braking. I just give 'er a hard push and it pops and rolls again. I haven't tore it down to figure out the problem yet. So it may be a rather common, simple problem if yours is doing the same thing, or similar.

So, just cleaning the bearing will eliminate the problem?? Could this be a sign its starting to go out??

I put a brand new bearing on mine today and it started great the first time. Ran a tank of fuel thru it and the thing would engage and kick out, back and forth. I'm not going to clean the bearing everytime I want to start this thing that is just crazy. Someone has to have a fix for this. My buddy's 2.5 doesn't do this, but mine does.

That's your problem. Traxxas fuel is much too oily. It's known to cause this problem. Run Byrons, Trinity, or the others that are recommended from people on here.

My buddy is running the same fuel from the same gallon jug with no problem. Why isn't their a crankseal on this thing? I'm very fimilar with two stroke motors but this little thing is weird not having a sealed crankcase.

Where can I get some? My hobby store locally only sales Top Fuel. By time I mess with getting this thing started I don't want to play with it any more.

I'm sure there's online stores that sell it. I'm not sure of any off of the top of my head. You could pop the ez start back off and blast it out with nitro cleaner or denatured alcohol and put it back together dry. No lube. How's your engine run?

Engine runs great I have it a little fat right now, it's 10 degrees here. So I didn't want it to lean out.

I will just clean it out for now, and run it.

Get a temp gun if you don't have one. Keep the temp around 240 with a good blue stream coming out the stinger. No raw fuel. Too rich is as bad as too lean. Lots of guys wrap the head with a baby sock or tin foil to keep the heat in. Watch for fuel gelling at those temps.

I never lube a OWB, and I ran mostly Top Fuel in my Tmaxx. I only had it out to clean it twice in about 3 gallons. When you take it out to clean it make sure you clean the shaft as well.

I cleaned the shaft and didn't lube the OWB when I put it in. I have only ran one tank of fuel and the damn thing isn't working
