Starter rotation direction

I just got my LST2 out after about 1 1/2 years. I charged everything up and that all looks good. My problem is that when I put the starter hex in the hole it just spins around clockwise. Assuming that this is the right way for it to be turning, why is it just spinning? Is this something I can fix easily or do I have to spend big bucks at the LHS to get somebody to look at it?
