There are 10^11 stars in our galaxy. That used to be a huge number. But it's only a hundred billion. It's less than the national deficit! We used to call them astronomical numbers. Now we should call them economical numbers.

How did we get to the place where we now throw "Trillion" around like it's nothing? I can wrap my mind around a billion, but this is insanity!!!

Let's try to repay one TRILLION dollars, by giving back one dollar every second of every day, around the clock:

One million dollars will be paid back in 12 days. Not bad, so far, huh?
One billion dollars will take 31 years. Getting scary, isn't it?
One TRILLION dollars will take 31,688 YEARS! Doesn't sound good, does it?

We now owe more than 10 1/2 TRILLION dollars. YOU do the math. I'm unable to comprehend it.

holy cow!!!! no poop????

ok so i did the math and to repay 10.5 trillion dollars by giving back one dollar every second of every day, around the clock it would take 332 724 years....sorry for being a smart a$$ lol:D

u guys are all wrong. you made the basic assumption that tomorrows dollar will be valued the same as todays dollar. thats the fundamental mistake. given the fact that the 24/7 printing of money will lead to hyper inflation, tomorrows dollar will be valued significantly less then todays dollar. throw in the fact that the current spending bill of 819 billion will cost 1.2 trillion after u tack on the interest charges...we are basically screwed. the worst part of all this is, our childrens children will be the ones who will ultimately end up paying for all this.

i say here here to pelosi and the other idiots in washington. thanks for making a bad situation even worse.

A million dollars ago was five (5) seconds ago at the U.S. Treasury.

A trillion seconds ago, Neanderthal man hunted on the plains of Europe.

I say **** it and burn some nitro. If you're lucky you won't remember what to be scared of. :whhooo::D

I remember hearing the number 4 trillion sometime back when I was in junior high/high school. I'm only 28... we went from 4 trillion to 10 trillion in 15 years? Out of Control.
