i just got my hpi nitro rs4 mt rtr running. i fixed the front end. took it to the hobby shop got it tunned and bought a new clutch. i was running it and it just died . i thought it was that little screw thing that is on the carb so i addjusted it to what i read it was supposed to be but it still does it. what could it be? :wtf: :help:

ok, start with the obvious: Fuel? Is the glow plug still good? take it out, hook up your ignitor to it and see if it glows.
Make sure your main needle (high speed) is at the factory setting per the manual. If this is the stock nitro star .15fe, then they run hot (in my experience), and tend to "flame out" and stall. Also, I had a problem with the plastic tuned pipe one time. The bell end that hooks to the header had rubbed against the header and the bell broke off and got lodged into the pipe and choked it out. The symptom of it were that it ran great as long as the fuel tank cap was open to release the pressure (this problem is very very rare, by the way). What engine are you running? Also, was there plenty of smoke out of the stinger? A lean condition will over heat the engine and can cause stalling.

I'm running the stock .15 fe engine it might be the ignitor because this car hasnt ran since this one came out. oh and i brock the tip of the tunned pipe a while back and havent gotten to fixing it yet. oh and i am using 20 % odonell racing fuel

The stinger being broke may slightly affect the performance, but I don't see it killing the car. Are you able to get it to turn at all? Does it seem like it wants to fire but wont or does it just turn over with no apparent combustion/force? It may jsut be that the car needs to have a good re-tuning after the long sit.

it turns on. it will stay on for 5 min then cut off when i am getting into it. it seems to cut off when it hits every 1/4 of the gas tank

Is it blowing lots of smoke? Is it not blowing any smoke? Do you have a temp gauge?

it doesn't blow smoke and i dont have a temp gauge yet.

You don't see any smoke when you're on the gas? Does it die when its just idling or when you are accelerating or what?

It sounds way to lean. Two strokes have oil in the gas.It is supposed to smoke while your on the gas.Try richening the needles untill you have a nice trail of smoke at wot.I would recamend getting a temp gun.For the 30 dollars you spend you could save your engine.

i ran it today and i noticed smoke when i hit the gas. i messed with the trottle control on the control and made it threw 3/4 of the gas tank when the engine died and started smoking. i never go to this point before so my guess it that i over heated the engine right.

hows the compression on the engine... in otherwords, when u turn the fly wheel manually with your fingers is it hard to get it around all the way? If it is easy, then you may not have much compression, making it nearly impossible to tune it and keep it running without flaming out.

i think thaty maybe it. it turns fairly easy. even though you said it is almost inpossible. how do you think i can fix this?

take apart your engine and get it repinched by osrocket, or rayaracing.com. You send it to them and for like $15, they re-manuafacture it. Then you re-break in your engine and the compression is fine.

is there any other way. I'm not to big on sending my things to other places on the internet.

well, if it is the compression then there is nothing else you can do besides get it repionched. Unless you want to go to your lhs and get a whole new piston and sleeve for like $70. Just try tightening the glow plug, but dont overtighten.

When the car idles, does it rev up a lot or just stay a constant idle?
