I just put my revo back together and i was wondering what the problem with it is, when i go to start it it wants to move, correct me if i am wrong but it seems to me like my clutch pack is bad because when i put it back together today it wasn't completly round is was kinda oblong shaped and a couple of the corners were broken off, if that is a problem what is a new clutch going to cost (approx) and if the clutch is not bad then what else could it be.
 
The stock clutch is normally oblong like that, or at least mine always has. The chipped edges might be causing it to engage too early. New pads and spring should be around $10 for stock.

thanx a bunch i just ordered my clutch pads it was only $7.50
 
Traxxas trims the stock shoes so they engage later for more punch off the line. That's what makes them oblong.

oic that makes sense. . but the hole on one of the shoes was broken thats another reason i needed to replace them. . now if i wanted to go with a 3 piece clutch what would you suggest as far as a brand
 
what is the real difference between the stock 2 shoe set up and a 3 shoe set up, what are the advantages of it, better take off, more climbing power, ect
 
I know it may seem like blasphemy, hypocrisy, whatever, but I run the Integy 3-shoe on my Maxx and it works great.

You have more tuning options with a 3 shoe over stock as far as when the shoes actually engage the CB. Earlier or later type deal.
Thats as far as I know. I have hard shoes on .95 springs and have had no reason to change it, so I cannot really comment on how drastic the changes between springs and shoes are.
I upgraded the clutch for a BB after tearing up a couple stock clutches and 1 from MIP. I haven't had a single problem after going with the 3 shoe.

ok great well when my stock clutch pack goes kaput again i will go with a 3 shoe set up. . .but if it aint broke don't fix it
