Santa was kind and I've completed the build part of my new SS, she's a beaut, pictures to follow. Now to have fun, or so I thought.
The .25 Nitrostar book says to run the first tank through with minimum throttle. I'm having problems with this. The SS starts well and idles for one or two minutes then the revs climb sharply to the max, all this is happening with the throttle servo at the minimum, the Rx and Tx aren't even on! As this happens I've been pinching the fuel line, letting the engine cool for five minutes and starting again. I've done a full tank now and it's still happening, anyone had this problem before? In the meantime I'll persevere with the break in tomorrow, have to move to the park though, my neighbours aren't gonna love my truck like I do.....
Hope you guys had a great Christmas, I'm looking forward to contributing to the RCNitrotalk forums.:hi:

Your radio and receiver should ALWAYS be on before starting the engine. Radio then receiver and opposite when shutting down. You try starting the engine with the radio off and you'll be outta control real fast.

And try not to shut you car down by pinching the fuel line, this leans the engine out and could lead to major engine problems. The best ways to stop a RC vehicle is to:
Stop the flywheel with your thumb or foot and it will shut straight down, or stick you thumb or a old rag or something over the exhaust and it will shut down after a few seconds!

The truck is up on a block for the first tank so I followed the instructions to leave off the radio for just the one tank. Still does anyone know why the revs might increase with no throttle movement, I could understand a slight change over the space of a tank but a sudden increase over 1 minute?

I know the book says to leave the radio off for the 1st tank, but I turned mine on anyway, to keep the revs down maybe try to richen up the LSN a little by turning the needle counter clockwise about 1/8 turn, as for shutting it down I always go with the plugging of the exhast, it shuts down with in 2 seconds

RuSSTy first of all welcome to RCNT. Sounds like your car is warming up to how the needles are set. See the tune you put on a cold engine works completely different on a heated engine. By the way how cold out is it?? Road rage you should use the img codes on your proflie so that your sig show's up. It go's like this

This is the finished result
