:whhooo::\why does this happen. the spure rubbed a whole in the in the neck. i think it waas the a 2.5 but has a 3.3 on it now it runs grreat. can't keep the wheels down ..but it keeps cutting my air in-takes.
 
I think it depends on the air filter neck. Make sure that clears the spur.
But it could also mean other things like a bad engine mount or a bent chassis.
 
Most likely cause is the chasis as stated above. I went through about 6 filter tubes and a motor before I swapped out chasis'. You can ususally find them on the bay for $15-$20.
 
mines been doing this too. I feel the pain. I just layered some duct tape on it so if the spur gear does chew through something other then my intake duct. I was also debating to see if i can re route the air filter away from the spur gear.
 
Your truck is bent in half a bit.

If you dont feel the need to fix it, you can seal up the hole ifrom the inside with some shoe goo or some silicone.
