i was wondering, what size spur gear are you guys running. i'm looking into buying a different size for my 2.5, but i'm not sure which one(s) to get. currently running 72 tooth, but i want to get a little more speed without loosing too much torque. thinking 70 or 68 tooth, but even considering 66.

I am all about the torque and low end grunt. So I run 72 tooth spur with an 18 tooth bell.

Remember though that there is always a trade off, to get more top end you will lose some bottom end, to get more bottom end you will lose some top end.

will more bottom end give me a faster start off the line? what is the stock bell tooth size?

i run a 24t cb and a 72t spur. i am going to change the spur to about a 66 or something aroudn there. My XTm engine has way too much torque for me off the line so i figured i would take that torque and make it for speed!!

A 73t Kimbrough Spur & 20t clutchbell is a nice combo for what your looking for....

thanks for all the good info, i went ahead and bought a 68t & 70t spur gears and a 19t clutch bell. i figured that i can swap gears around and see what i like plus i still have the stock 20t CB, so i can either have high torque or high speed or somewhere in the middle. thanks again!

and that gear ratio chart really helped!
