Burnt up the spur gear on my Savage. LHS only has the 47 tooth. I know this will be a little more top end. Does it have the same pitch? as the 49 tooth? 47 tooth work with the stock clutchbell?
I have the .25 RTR. May have been asked before, but I couldn't find it. Book only lists the 49 tooth spur. But they list 2 clutchbells. Thanks.
 
Don't list the 47 tooth on that.
Options on the hpi website list the 47 and 49. If that is right... Will work. But 52 teeth won't?
 
yes the 47 tooth is the same pitch as the 49 and 52.. It is an HPI replacment part for the savage..

I have it on my truck and you will be limited to at least a 16 tooth CB... I think. I know that anything smaller and you would not be able to slide the engine over enough for proper mesh..

I run my NovaRossi with an 18/47 gearing and I love it.. Not sure if the 25 would pull that gearing all that will but with a 3 speed the first gear is low enough to pull wheelies without a hitch...

Thanks guys. Guess I have the 15 tooth clutch. Original one that came on it. Wasn't too worried about the gearing. Ported the engine couple of months ago. Not a powerhouse, but better than stock. Don't think I want 18/47, but I can go higher.

18/47 will make that joker haul ass. you wont be able to control it, only on the streaight away will you be able to hit top speed.
 
The 47T spur requires a 17T or larger clutch bell. The SS 4.6 instruction PDF on HPI's site lists that spur in the gearing chart.

I personally run 18/47 and 19/47 with a Picco 26.

Still haven't got it together yet. Clutch was burnt up is what caused the problem to start with. Got too hot and melted a few teeth after it sit. I knew it was gone, had the parts... Run it one more time and then I'll fix it... Not much of an expense though. Thanks for the input guys.

Markallen, haven't seen you on much. Hope ya haven't lost interest.
The pictures on your website helped a lot when I ported my engine. I didn't cut the crank but about .060 on this one. Got a good deal on a used one and I'm going to go more on it.
