what would the difference in spur gear teeth have on the performance of the truck? Like a 47t gear conpared to a 51t gear?

A 47 tooth spur will yield more top end speed than a 51 tooth spur. You will lose acceleration, and gain speed, at the cost of more heat from the engine (as it has to work harder to get the truck moving).

A 51 tooth spur will allow to the truck to have faster acceleration than the 47 tooth spur. However, you will lose top end speed, and the engine won't have to work as hard to get the truck moving.

As for clutch bells, the higher the tooth-count, the harder the truck has to work to get going. The lesser the tooth-count, the easier it is.

i run a 17/47 combo on my k4.6 and it rips it up for the bashing i do.

what gear ratios are you running right now?

what are you looking to do? more speed or more torque?

The info that HeartBreak gave you is totaly correct. that should give you an idea for what your trying to do.
