I reciently stripped the plastic 70 tooth spur gear. I went bought a new gear only. I reused every thing else. Was i supposed to replace everything. I even used the stock plastic pins that go in the gear. Well i used it today and it just spins. It looks like i didnt have the nut tight enough and it started melting the gear where the clutch was slipping. So i am going to replace everything. Even with it as tight as i can make it, it doesn't move it jus slips. My question is am i supposed to have the nut tight. I had it tight but i guess not tight enough since it was just slipping. How tight should that nut be...

All the way tight and then back it off 1/4 turn.

Fill all 12 holes in the spur (if it has 12) with new friction pegs.
The only way to melt the center of the spur gear is the slipper was too loose and/or the friction pegs were completely worn out.

I noticed my stock gear only had 6 pegs. I ordered new everything from ebay and it also only comes with 6 pegs. Maybe i will take out the 6 that i have and put them in so i will have 12.
