our track here in town is pretty small, but has some big jumps that are hard to clear running 47/18 gearing. also there is no way in hell this 3speed is gonna get upp enough rpms to hit 3rd on this track. i just found out why it didnt sound 3rd off. well i WOT a little longer than usuall just to be silly and it hit 3rd. no way in hell is there a place that 3rd is needed with this gearing ratio. I'm thinking that it shifts gears upon rpm's. is this right?uncontrollable speeds.

okay heres my ordeal. i want ot be able to punish around this track pretty quick as i wont even hit close to 30mph. i need torque out of the corners to clear the gap jump and the set of quads. coming out of corners these jumps are about 15"ft away and about the same distance gap.

so i'll get higher rpms from say a 52/13 gear ratio. this ratio will make the 3 speed shift sooner, right? as the rpm's will be higher. i believe this ration puts out about 46k rpms and top speed about 30mph compared to the 47/18 which puts out only 31k and top speed about 43mph. someone offered a gear ratio setting for the savage. I'm wondering who that person was and if they can add some more gear ratios to it. it in micro excel format.

what about a 52/12 combo. can't seem to find a vented 13t bell.

so for this kind of track should i run a 52/13 or a 52/15? it might hit 3rd gear if i ran the 52/13 combo in the front straight away.

well it all depends on what engine your running as well.
I use a picco 26 at the track with the stock 2speed and I've run 20/47 gearing with no problems clearing the double jump thats about the same as the one you described.

from what i've read so far the 3 speed will give you more low end over the stock 2 speed as well as more top speed.

I'd recomend trying a 15t cluth bell first before going down to a 12 or 13

you may also want to check your clutch shoes and deglaze them while your at it as well as the bell and make sure your slipper isn't too loose as that would rob you of some lowend grunt.

I'm running a k46. i think i'll try the 52/15 set-up. will this give me mad wheelies? really want to keep it on the ground if I'm racing.

I'd try 15/47 first if you still need more low end make sure you LSN is set correctly if it is then go to the 52t spur and go easy on the throttle, but on dirt you'll get more wheel spin then wheelies depending on your tires.

I just started breaking in my K4.6 and so far it's on par with the picco .26 on everything except the low end but as I said i'm still breaking it in so time will tell.

I'm running 40 series bow ties and i have a set of 40 series big joes. both pair are on seperate rims. man this thing is going to be untouchable with the 52/15, k46, 3 speed. a tru revo mammoth eating machine.
