Had to change tranny on my savage, spare tranny had a larger spur gear, stock is 46 tooth i think, the other on is bigger it came off of a savage .25 or .21 can I use it, or will it make me too slow? Also, the red disk inside was a little scratched, anything to worrie about? I reinstalled it, TIGHT, and then backed it off 1/4 turn. still have to install the motor, but wanted to check befor I install it. Thanks savagebeast

You're going to want to make sure that the clutch bell gear is going to work wwith the spur gear, there is a post on here that gives you the ratios.
As for the clutch its self, buy a new one their cheap, if there is any glaze on it switch it.

+1. Unless they're worn, a quick scuffing of the shoes and inside of the bell bring them right back to life. Use a dab of blue, removable locktite on the slipper nut, as well as all metal to metal nuts and bolts. Also, when adjusting your slipper, always finish by tightening it. Do as you did for a base line, only back it off a little more than a 1/4 turn, then bring it back to a 1/4 in the tightening direction. Do the same when making finishing adjustments once it's running.
