Hi, I've just got a sportmaxx from fleabay, auction said it was a T maxx in good used condition, lucky for me it was local as when I picked it up it turned out to be a sportmaxx in not very good condition, the seller offered it to me for 60 how could I say no! So my questions are how much does it cost to covert it to 4wd and add reverse, is it better to junk the tranny and stick a T maxx one in, I know it's stronger without reverse but I like to have it. Also after about 30 second to a minute at full throttle it bogs down, I need to feather the throttle till it picks up then its fine for a bit, are the any mods that need I need to do to the tank or is this more of a tuning issue. Thanks

A sport maxx is a t maxx, minus the front diff and driveshafts. Parts are abundant on ebay. Your engine is probably leaning out as the fuel level drops. Proline makes a replacement tank, or it helps to keep your fuel level around half full. I couldn't imagine adding reverse to a Maxx. It's just headaches. Kills a lot of performance, especially since the 2.5 is under powered for a monster truck. Reverse would cost way more than it's worth. Probably double your investment.:)

Thanks for the advice, think I'll leave reverse I might even keep it 2wd, just need to sort the running out, do you know if the proline tank is available in the UK.
