Is anyone on this board sponsored to race? Just curious if you guys know what it's like to be sponsored and what it takes to get sponsored.

Seems kinda cool if I could make a living off doing something that I love so much.

my LHS sponsors me to some extent. in conjunction with stickers on the vehicle itself, i am obligated to wear one of their t-shirts, as well as post their banner in my pits.

in return, i get free tires, and large discounts on items i will be using to race.

I am sponsored by my local hobby shop and thats it for the moment.
It sucks though because i was sponsored by Tamiya but of course the guy there that was handling it for me went to a different company and the sponsorship ended.

If you want to be sponsored you have to go to the big races (national event) and do well. Do this enough and someone will sponsor you.
