why is it that we all have the same thing with the platinum 3.3 my connecting rod split and why traxxas will not get it fixed for free. it is not just me
 
Have you emailed traxxas and explained your specific info. Perhaps, if no other damage occured, maybe they might send you just a rod for you to replace yourself. I got nothing if it toasted the cyl. good luck.
 
I had the same problem. They told me to mail it in so they can "evaluate" it, and see if it's my fault or there's. I never did it though. Just went through the ERP.
 
I probably would have sent it and waited to see if my lack of patience overode my lack of budget and just bought a second engine. If they fix it, you have a spare for back up or to sell.

Besides, you would have had to send in the other anyway and if they said they couldn't fix...well then you could have dropped the money for ERP over the phone.
