I was recently running my nitro savage, and "somehow" it ended up upside down???? anyway, I broke the antenna straw, AND the antenna wire from the reciever on the truck. It still performed ok, but was afraid to let it get too far. Can I splice the antenna wire, or is this just asking for trouble? If splicing is o.k. what type of wire do I use? Thanks all, Savagebeast

It should be okay to splice the antenna wire as it is usually a single wire. From looking at my gear, it looks to be either a 24 or 26 gauge stranded wire. Try to make the antenna wire the same length as the original for best results.

i have done this before, splicing the wire will work, just may not work as well as normal, but will work most definitely, i would just suggest not to go as far away were the signal may not reach as far with a spliced wire, but i have done it for temporary and it worked just fine, fixing it correctly would require dis-assembling the receiver and soldering a new wire on to the circuit board...

this is what i do in these cases. but as stated above, splicing will work, it may or may not limit distance some though.
